ASA Corp. was founded in 1992 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based on the premise that sophisticated customer analysis tools were too difficult for typical business people to use. Companies were missing incredible opportunities to gain insight to customer behavior. If they had easy to use analytical tools, marketing, sales, and risk management departments would embrace more sophisticated analytical based approaches to decision making as an everyday part of their business.
In 1993 ASA introduced the industry's first automated predictive modeling product for marketers. ModelMAX® is a tool that combines the power of neural networks and statistical methods with a unique automated analytical process. ModelMAX® quickly became a big success with catalogers and retail banks searching to improve directing marketing results. Marketers experienced significant improvements in response rates, lower campaign costs, and deeper insight into customer behavior.
Through 1996, ASA continued to develop its core technologies and applications to focus on specific problems in fraud, sales, and risk management. ASA introduced ScorXPRESS® for application fraud detection. ScorXPRESS® is now used by leading credit card issuers in over 20 countries as the gatekeeper in preventing application fraud.
In 1998, ASA began to expand it's offerings to include analytical outsourcing services and consulting to help clients adopt analytics as more of a strategic weapon in their marketing and risk management programs. ASA has become recognized for its expertise and industry knowledge in the areas of predictive analytics, marketing strategy, data management, and system integration. The company continues to expand it's reach into financial institutions, retailers, catalogers, and non-profit clients.
Through 2002, ASA worked to evolve a rules based decisioning platform (DecisionBuilder™) to assist clients in deploying analytics across a broad range of business applications. The need to bring analytics right into mainstream customer facing decision processes such as the call center, branch offices, point of sale, and the web was clearly apparent.
In 2004, ASA released Customer Opportunity Advisor, a next generation sales and lead management system that enables financial service organizations to make dramatic increases in sales, referrals, and customer retention.
